More Than Just My Work: When Iโ€™m not in the office, you will find me spending time with my children who are entering adulthood at a rapid pace. I love to travel, swim, and getting cozy with a book by the water.

I also enjoy fostering kittens and value giving back to the community by supporting others beyond the therapy room, this reflects the care and compassion I bring into all areas of my life.

โ€œItโ€™s ok if you fall down and lose your spark. Just make sure when you get back up, you rise as the whole damn fire.โ€
— Colette Werden

Hello my name is Laura Williamson (She/Her) and I am a life long resident of Lambton County.

I am a Registered Social Worker who has been working in the field for almost 23 years. I obtained both my Bachelors and Masters degrees of Social Work from the University of Windsor. I also graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

I enjoy working with families, teenagers, couples, as well as with individuals struggling with relationship issues, work stress, trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and with creating healthy boundaries. I have extensive experience working with First Responders across Ontario, with a particular focus on managing symptoms of PTSD and anxiety.

Clients and colleagues describe Laura as down-to-earth, warm, approachable, and grounded, with a great sense of humour.

My Why: From a young age, people often turned to me as a trusted listener, which sparked my longstanding interest in helping others. Through both personal and professional experiences, Iโ€™ve come to understand how challenging life transitions can be.

I believe that while it can often feel like things are happening to us, there are times when they are happening for us - offering opportunities for growth, insight, and change. This perspective guides my work as I support clients in navigating difficult moments with compassion, curiosity, and care.

My Hope: I want clients to feel empowered to overcome obstacles and challenges and achieve their goals while being kind and patient with themselves, understanding that sometimes we have to learn how to navigate when our train de-rails and goes down an unexpected track.
