More Than Just My Work: Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. You can normally find me outdoors, staying active, or enjoying a cup of coffee in my backyard. I feel that taking time to unwind and recharge is the catalyst for staying present for the moments that matter to us and those around us.
โEnjoy this day. Be present for yourself and those you love. Breathe deeply. Be Fearless to face lifeโs challenges. Always be bold and try new things. Never be afraid to be challenged; always face those challenges to the best of your ability.โ
I have always attempted to make the therapeutic relationship one that meets the individual where they are;
I deeply value creating a space where people feel free to share their concerns in the way that feels most natural to them. When individuals are met with patience and genuine curiosity, it can ease the tension and vulnerability that often accompany starting therapy. Many people begin therapy by minimizing their struggles, saying things like, โitโs not that bad,โ or โother people have it worse.โ I gently hold space for those feelings while affirming that their experiences matter. My approach is individualized and collaborative, shaped by each clientโs unique story, needs, and hopes for therapy. Above all, I aim to foster a warm, respectful environment where people feel safe being fully themselves.
My Experience
I am a Registered Social Worker with over 10 years of counselling experience, enabling me to support individuals from diverse backgrounds. I focus on trauma-informed care and adopt a client-centred, anti-oppressive approach that considers how systemic and relational factors influence well-being. My goal is to build genuine, collaborative therapeutic relationships grounded in safety, trust, and respect. My clinical work includes supporting those affected by complex trauma, attachment issues, grief, hoarding, homelessness, sexual violence, and exploitation. I use biopsychosocial, attachment, and trauma-informed theories in a culturally sensitive manner, addressing both personal experiences and the social contexts that shape them. I aim to foster a warm, affirming space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, enhance their independence, and work toward greater self-awareness and self-determination.
